Careers opportunities

This online master's course alone will not allow you to practice in the United Kingdom, but provides an opportunity for a non-psychology graduate, or a graduate from a non-BPS accredited course, to meet one of the entry requirements for a postgraduate programme of professional training in Health, Sport, Clinical, Counselling, Occupational, Educational or Forensic Psychology.

In addition to building a solid foundation to pursue a career in clinical psychology, you’ll also gain the transferable skills, knowledge, and expertise sought-after by employers in a variety of sectors. Lower second class (2:2) (or above) UK honours undergraduate degree in any subject, or international equivalent.

Non-native speakers of English need either of the following:

  • IELTS: 6.5 (min 6 in all areas) 
  • Pearson: 59 ( 59 in all subscores)
  • BrunELT: 63% (min 58% in all areas)
  • TOEFL: 90 (min 20 in all)

About the course 

The Psychological Sciences MSc (Conversion) online has been created for students and working professionals from non-psychology backgrounds who want to gain a comprehensive understanding of psychology, its practical applications, and its impact on society. Brunel's master's degree is accessible to working professionals with its leading-edge distance learning platform, allowing you to pursue your clinical psychology career along with your existing commitments. 

As a graduate, you’ll have acquired important subject specific skills and transferable skills at an advanced level, such as data analysis, problem solving and project management and effective communication including report preparation, whilst also building a solid basis to pursue a career as a professional psychologist through further study within the discipline (e.g. PhD, ClinPsyD, DEdPsy). 

Brunel's UK-based online master's in psychology is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), which means you'll be eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) from the BPS, essential for pursuing a career in recognised psychology professions.
